O, teh interwebz!

It’s true that we, as scientists, have held as tightly to the Copernican Principle as a five year old to their Legos (do kids still play with Legos these days?).  Though admittedly, there is a lot of scientific evidence that backs it up (see any text on cosmology), the questions should be asked:  What if we are special in the universe?
